We are a veteran friendly practice

Being a veteran friendly practice allows us to deliver the best possible care and treatment for patients who have served in the Armed Forces.

In the UK there are 2.4 million veterans but what is a veteran?

A veteran includes anyone who has served for at least one day on the Armed Forces (regular or reserved).

52% of veterans have a long-term illness/disability which is higher than the general adult population.

UK veterans who served at time of recent military operations were more likely than non-veterans to report cases of:

  • Common mental health disorders
  • PTSD
  • Alcohol misuse
  • Delayed presentation

As a military veteran his/her current condition may be related to military service and therefore their referrals should be considered for priority treatment under the rules set out in the Commissioning Board Mandate, NHS constitute and Armed Forces Covenant.

If you have not registered as being a veteran and would like us to make a note of this to provide with the appropriate care then please contact us to let us know
