If so, do you know about The Friends of Combe Down Surgery?
We are a fundraising group which was set up in 1999, to raise funds to purchase equipment, etc. to assist in the smooth running of both the Main Surgery in Combe Down, and the Branch Surgery in Odd Down.
We hold regular fund raising events at Combe Down Surgery and have purchased and continue to fund a Peugeot Montana, which has a ramp and wheelchair access. This vehicle is used five days a week to get elderly and infirm patients to and from their appointments at either Surgery. We are very fortunate to have a team of volunteer drivers and are grateful to Combe Down Garage for sponsoring the servicing, etc. of the vehicle. We ask for a small donation from the patients using the vehicle.
In the last year we have purchased a Doppler machine, phlebotomy chair, otoscope and ECG system all of which improve the service the surgery can offer to patients. Further purchases are planned.
Become a Member
Membership of The Friends is a minimum of £10.00 per person annually. Members receive a Newsletter every few months, letting them know about future events.
